Casablanca Stock Exchange Opens on a Positive Note
The Casablanca Stock Exchange began trading this Friday with gains, as its main index, MASI, grew by 1.06%, settling at 15,246.55 points.
The MASI.20 index, representing the performance of 20 listed companies, improved by 1.13% to 1,234.01 points. Similarly, the MASI.ESG index, which tracks companies with the best ESG ratings, rose by 1.16% to 1,062.27 points.
The MASI Mid and Small Cap index, reflecting the performance of small and medium-sized companies, recorded a significant increase of 1.5%, closing at 1,612.57 points.
Top Performers
The top individual performers included:
- Société Minière d’Imiter (+9.24% / 2,139 MAD),
- Sanlam Maroc (+4.78% / 1,840 MAD),
- Sonasid (+4.67% / 1,099 MAD),
- Jet Contractors (+3.9% / 2,159 MAD),
- Crédit Immobilier et Hôtelier (+3.54% / 409 MAD).
Biggest Declines
On the downside, the largest decreases were recorded by:
- Société Maghrébine de Monétique (-2.96% / 241.15 MAD),
- Salafin (-1.09% / 578.5 MAD),
- Immorente Invest (-0.17% / 89.85 MAD),
- Les Réalisations Mécaniques (-0.03% / 396 MAD).
It’s worth noting that the MASI index had closed Thursday’s session with a notable gain of 2.13%.
