Health Situation at Tangier 2 Prison Under Control

The administration of Tangier 2 local prison stated that “general health conditions within the facility are normal and pose no cause for concern.”

In a statement from the General Delegation for Prison Administration and Reintegration, addressing reports from some online outlets about a “measles outbreak among inmates at Tangier 2 prison,” it was clarified that after symptoms of the disease were observed in four detainees, including two new arrivals, immediate precautionary measures were taken.

The administration confirmed that suspected cases were isolated and underwent the necessary testing. Inmates and staff diagnosed with measles were provided with appropriate medical treatment in cooperation with local health authorities.

The statement also noted that an optional vaccination campaign against measles was carried out for inmates and staff by medical teams from the Ministry of Health.
