Microsoft to Invest $80 Billion in AI Data Centers by 2025
Microsoft has announced plans to allocate approximately $80 billion in the 2025 fiscal year to build data centers. These facilities will be dedicated to training AI models, deploying AI applications, and supporting cloud computing operations.
Brad Smith, Microsoft’s Vice Chair and President, stated that over half of the total investment will take place in the United States.
The company recently unveiled a new AI model named “Large Action Model (LAM),” which stands out for its ability to autonomously run Windows programs and perform various tasks. This model represents a significant leap forward in AI capable of executing complex commands.
In its most recent fiscal year, Microsoft reported over $72 billion in net profits, largely driven by its cloud computing business.
