Police officers in the Tétouan region, acting on precise intelligence provided by the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), arrested a 34-year-old man on Monday, January 6. The suspect is believed to be involved in a case concerning the possession and trafficking of narcotics and psychotropic substances.

The arrest took place during a security operation conducted in the “Al Mallaliyine” area of Tétouan. During this intervention, authorities confiscated 18,000 psychotropic pills of the “Rivotril” type, one kilogram and 25 grams of cocaine, two kilograms of cannabis resin (“chira”), and an amount of money suspected to be proceeds from drug sales.

A check in the national security database revealed that the suspect was the subject of a nationwide search warrant issued by the judicial police services in Tangier for similar offenses related to the trafficking of drugs and psychotropic substances.

The suspect has been placed in custody as part of a judicial investigation supervised by the competent public prosecutor’s office. The aim is to identify the potential networks linked to this criminal activity and uncover all related offenses attributed to the individual.
