Spanish Sports Council Temporarily Allows Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor to Play for Barcelona
The Spanish Sports Council announced today, Wednesday, that it has temporarily allowed FC Barcelona players Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor to participate in competitions with the Catalan club.
In a statement, the council said: “This temporary measure, pending a final decision on the appeal filed by the club and the mentioned players, suspends the decision by La Liga and the Spanish Football Federation to revoke the players’ sporting licenses.”
It added: “This measure ensures the validity of these licenses until a final decision is made regarding this appeal.”
As a result, Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor are now eligible to represent Barcelona until a final verdict is reached in the case filed by the club against La Liga and the Spanish Football Federation, which had denied renewing their licenses.
However, both players are absent from Barcelona’s squad for the Spanish Super Cup semifinal against Athletic Bilbao, being held today, Wednesday.
Should Barcelona qualify for the final, the duo will be eligible to play in the upcoming matches until the final ruling is issued.
