Unprecedented Incident in Tétouan: Cargo Worth Over 1 Million MAD Missing
This week, the city of Tétouan witnessed an unusual event as a shipment of goods valued at over 1 million MAD mysteriously disappeared. The cargo had been transported from Casablanca in two large trucks.
According to local sources, the operation initially seemed routine. The trucks, loaded with various goods, unloaded the shipment into a warehouse in Tétouan, where it was supposed to be distributed to merchants using smaller vehicles.
However, events took an unexpected turn. The transport company owner, coordinating with the delivery drivers, discovered that some of them exploited the situation to steal the goods instead of delivering them. These drivers reportedly diverted the cargo to undisclosed locations before returning to load more, giving the impression of regular deliveries.
As delays mounted, affected merchants contacted their suppliers in Casablanca, who confirmed that the shipment had left on schedule. This revelation caused frustration and outrage among the merchants.
In response, the victims held an emergency meeting with their trade association and decided to file an official complaint against the suspected drivers.
Authorities have launched an investigation. The transport company owner has been taken into custody, and four police teams are working to track down the suspects and recover the stolen goods.
The case remains under investigation, leaving the local business community in shock.
