Officers of the National Security at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca arrested a 32-year-old Turkish citizen on Sunday, January 12. The individual was wanted under an international warrant issued by Turkish judicial authorities.

The arrest occurred upon his arrival on a flight from Tunisia. A check in the database of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) revealed that he was internationally wanted by Turkish judicial authorities to serve a prison sentence related to his involvement in activities of an armed terrorist organization.

The suspect has been placed in police custody pending his appearance before the competent public prosecutor. Meanwhile, the National Central Bureau, representing Interpol in Morocco, has been tasked with notifying its Turkish counterpart about the arrest as part of the extradition process.

This operation underscores the commitment of Moroccan security services to strengthen international security cooperation, particularly in tracking individuals wanted for transnational crimes.
