Strengthening Spanish-Moroccan Relations

King Felipe VI of Spain emphasized the “special” nature of his country’s relationship with Morocco, urging further enhancement of these ties based on friendship and good neighborliness.

In a speech delivered at the 9th Conference of Spanish Ambassadors Accredited Abroad (January 13-14), the Spanish monarch stated: “We will continue advancing our bilateral agenda with Morocco, a country with which we must keep working in a spirit of friendship and cooperation that defines our unique neighborly relations.”

 

The King also highlighted the significance of strategic alliances in Spanish foreign policy, particularly in forums such as the 5+5 Dialogue and the Union for the Mediterranean. These alliances play a key role in fostering regional cooperation and providing coordinated solutions to shared challenges.

 

Additionally, King Felipe VI stressed the importance of strengthening collaboration with the African continent. He praised the new Spain-Africa Strategy 2025-2028, describing it as a clear roadmap in this area.
