Swift Response to Extinguish Forest Fire on Mount Aghandrou

The intervention teams of the Regional Directorate of the National Agency for Water and Forests in Al Hoceima, supported by Civil Protection, successfully extinguished a forest fire that broke out Tuesday evening on Mount « Aghandrou » near the commune of Abdelghaya Souahel.
According to the regional director of the agency, Imad Khadir, the fire was fully contained by Wednesday morning, with approximately one hectare of forest cover, mainly oak trees and secondary formations, burned.
Over 40 responders, equipped with various specialized vehicles, were mobilized to control the fire and prevent its spread, despite challenging windy conditions. Monitoring of the site is ongoing to prevent reignition, and an investigation has been launched to uncover the cause of the fire.
