Formation of a Committee for the Revision of the Family Code

The Minister responsible for relations with Parliament and government spokesman, Mustafa Baitas, announced on Thursday the formation of a drafting committee made up of the ministries directly involved in the revision of the Family Code, along with the general secretariat of the government, to ensure the specificity of this law is taken into account.

In a press conference following the Cabinet meeting, Baitas clarified that the Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister, decided to form this committee from the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the Ministry of Solidarity, Social Integration and Family Affairs, as well as the General Secretariat of the government, which will be consulted for its expertise.

He emphasized that the drafting committee will include legal, theological, and judicial experts, with the potential to involve additional expertise if necessary. The committee will closely monitor the discussions surrounding the revision of the Family Code and will consider proposals already made in a specific legislative framework.
