Household Confidence Index Sees Slight Improvement in Q4 2024
Morocco’s High Commission for Planning (HCP) reported that the Household Confidence Index reached 46.5 points in Q4 2024, up from 46.2 points in the previous quarter and 44.3 points in the same period last year
During Q4 2024, 81% of households reported a deterioration in living standards over the past 12 months, while 14.2% saw stability, and 4.8% noted improvement.
An overwhelming 82.7% of households anticipate a rise in unemployment in the next 12 months.
Around 80% of households believe it is not a suitable time to purchase durable goods.
Only 2.3% of households managed to save part of their income in Q4 2024, while 41.2% relied on savings or loans.
Approximately 97.5% of households observed an increase in food prices over the past year.
