Strategic Projects Launched in Agadir
Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch chaired, on Monday in Agadir, the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding to establish the Agadir Atlantic Hub, a dry port
Spanning 100 hectares in the export free zone of Drarga, the Agadir dry port will include storage and packaging facilities, areas for empty and full containers, and dedicated administrative and customs zones. This initiative positions itself as the largest logistics project in the Souss-Massa region. Additionally, a new export-oriented free zone covering 27.11 hectares was inaugurated.
Another noteworthy project introduced was a new medical glove manufacturing plant by Meditech Gloves, with a total investment of 461 million MAD.
The agreement to develop the dry port was signed by prominent stakeholders, including the president of the Souss-Massa Regional Council, Karim Achengli, and the Director-General of the Deposit and Management Fund, Khalid Safir, among others
On the same occasion, the Prime Minister inaugurated a major factory of the German group Leoni, a global leader in wiring systems for the automotive sector, located in the Souss industrial acceleration zone. This project, costing 230 million MAD, is expected to generate over 3,000 direct jobs by 2027, increasing the total workforce of Leoni plants in Morocco to 19,000.
