Candlelight is a series of live concerts designed to democratize access to classical music. This expansion to the region follows the experience’s global success, having captivated audiences in over 150 cities worldwide, including Casablanca and Rabat.
Starting February 14, Fairmont Tazi Palace Tangier will be illuminated by thousands of candles for a Valentine’s Day tribute to timeless love songs. The experience, that will take place throughout the year in different locations, will continue on February 15 with two specially curated concerts: Vivaldi’s Four Seasons and an exhilarating “Coldplay vs. Imagine Dragons” performance. Performed by Grupo artYmus, Candlelight collaborates with talented local musicians who share the belief that classical music can resonate with a broader audience, offering a mesmerizing musical journey that spans both classical and contemporary pieces.
Candlelight is celebrated for reimagining the classical concert format by hosting performances in distinctive venues that form part of the city’s cultural heritage and infusing each show with the warm glow of candlelight. This approach has already wowed millions of attendees around the world, in iconic locations such as the Atomium in Brussels, the Eiffel Tower in Paris, and the Burj Al Arab in Dubai.
This innovative format offers a unique musical experience through a diverse selection of programs designed to cater all tastes. Originally dedicated to timeless classical works by composers like Vivaldi, Mozart, and Chopin, Candlelight has since expanded its programming to include contemporary tributes to Queen, ABBA, Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, and more. From film soundtracks to anime themes, the series appeals to both seasoned concertgoers and those discovering live classical music for the first time.
