AFCON 2025 Draw in Morocco: A Landmark Event
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced on Thursday that the draw for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) will take place next Monday at the Mohammed V National Theatre in Rabat.
In a press release, CAF stated that this event marks the symbolic start of the competition. It will bring together key figures in African football, including federation presidents, international media, and legendary athletes, promising a star-studded and unforgettable evening.
The draw will allocate the 24 qualified teams into six groups for the tournament’s group stage.
Scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM Moroccan time (GMT+1), the ceremony will feature a unique blend of sports and culture, showcasing the richness of Moroccan heritage and its excellence in organizing the 35th edition of Africa’s premier football competition, set to take place from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.
CAF also highlighted the Mohammed V National Theatre as the venue for the event. This architectural gem, located in the heart of Rabat, embodies the elegance and cultural heritage of Morocco, a nation ready to host an exceptional AFCON edition.
