Starting February 1, 2025, Saudi Arabian health authorities require all travelers entering the Kingdom, whether for performing Umrah or visiting holy sites, to be vaccinated against meningitis (meningococcal disease) as a mandatory entry condition.

Vaccine Availability

The Ministry of Health and Social Protection informs the public that vaccines against this disease are sufficiently available in all pharmacies nationwide.

Vaccination Procedure

Citizens planning to travel should:

  • Purchase the vaccine from a pharmacy.
  • Visit the nearest accredited health center to receive the vaccine and obtain their vaccination certificate.
  • Alternatively, access these services at the Center for Serums and Vaccines (Pasteur Institute of Morocco).

Key Reminders

  • Vaccination must be completed at least 10 days before the travel date.
  • Children under one year old and individuals who have been vaccinated against this disease within the last five years are exempted, provided they present a valid certificate.

The Ministry urges citizens to strictly adhere to Saudi health regulations to ensure public health and the safety of all travelers.
