Strategic Investments Highlighted at Davos World Economic Forum
The Minister Delegate for Investment, Convergence, and Evaluation of Public Policies, Karim Zidan, emphasized strategic investments during his participation in the 55th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum, held this week in Davos, Switzerland.
Under the theme “Cooperation in the Age of Intelligence”, Mr. Zidan showcased the significant progress made by Morocco under the visionary leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. He highlighted global energy and digital transformations that are opening new horizons for Morocco, reinforcing its status as a major player on the international economic stage and a model of sustainability and economic resilience.
Mr. Zidan also detailed Morocco’s strengths in attracting strategic investments. During discussions with prominent decision-makers and investors, he highlighted the unique opportunities Morocco offers as a prime destination for global investment and trade.
Among his bilateral meetings were notable figures such as Vincent Clerc, CEO of A.P. Moller – Maersk, Omar Berrada, CEO of Manchester United, Jim Hagemann Snabe, Chairman of Siemens, along with executives from major corporations like Mitsubishi, DEME, and Schneider Electric.
The forum also facilitated strategic discussions on cooperation in key sectors such as renewable energy, infrastructure, and advanced technology, reflecting the growing interest of global economic leaders in Morocco’s investment potential.
Gathering over 3,000 participants from 130 countries, the forum welcomed prominent personalities such as Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, Ding Xuexiang, Chinese Vice Premier, Olaf Scholz, German Chancellor, as well as heads of state and international organizations, including António Guterres, UN Secretary-General.
Discussions centered around five key themes: “Reimagining Growth”, “Industries in the Age of Intelligence”, “Investing in Human Capital”, “Protecting the Planet”, and “Rebuilding Trust”.
