Football fans worldwide will turn their attention this Monday evening to the National Theatre Mohammed V in Rabat, which will host the draw ceremony for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025.

The 24 qualified teams will learn their group-stage opponents and the schedule for the rest of the tournament. This highly anticipated edition will run from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.

The competition features 24 teams divided into six groups of four. The top two teams from each group, along with the four best third-placed teams, will advance to the Round of 16.

Broadcast live in over 90 countries, the event will be attended by African football legends like Essam El-Hadary, Patrick Mboma, Aymen Mathlouthi, and Gervinho, alongside prominent figures from African football.

Morocco, the host nation, has been upgrading its facilities, including stadiums in Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier, Marrakech, Agadir, and Fez. Since the announcement in September 2023, preparations aim to make this edition one of the most successful in AFCON history.

After an impressive fourth-place finish at the 2022 World Cup, Morocco hopes to claim the continental trophy for the first time since 1976 while gearing up for the 2030 World Cup, which it will co-host with Spain and Portugal.
