Storm « Herminia » Disrupts Maritime Traffic Between Tarifa and Tangier

The storm « Herminia, » which swept across the Strait of Gibraltar, caused significant disruption to maritime traffic between the Spanish port of Tarifa and Tangier City.

As a result, all maritime crossings between the two ports were canceled this Monday, with services suspended indefinitely due to adverse weather conditions.

Maritime authorities in Tarifa and Tangier announced this decision early this morning after assessing weather conditions described as dangerous.

They stated that the Strait of Gibraltar is currently experiencing strong winds and high waves, prompting precautionary measures to ensure the safety of passengers and crew.

Travelers are advised to stay updated on weather conditions and ferry schedules through official channels. Authorities also emphasized the importance of adhering to announced safety guidelines due to ongoing severe weather.

The Spanish Meteorological Agency (AEMET) had previously issued warnings about the storm « Herminia, » which reached Spain on Monday morning, accompanied by strong winds.
