Arrest of a French Citizen Wanted Internationally in Marrakech
On Monday, February 3rd, police officers from the Marrakech Security Directorate, based on precise intelligence provided by the General Directorate for National Security (DGST), arrested a 43-year-old French citizen. The individual was subject to an international arrest warrant issued by French judicial authorities for the execution of a criminal sentence related to an attempted premeditated murder.
The arrest was carried out during a security operation in Marrakech. A database check with Interpol confirmed that the suspect was internationally wanted through a red notice, issued in accordance with an international arrest warrant from the French judiciary.
According to initial investigations, the arrested French national is sought by the French justice system to serve the penalties outlined in the court ruling against him.
The suspect has been placed in custody pending extradition proceedings, while French authorities have been notified to provide the necessary extradition file.
This arrest falls within the framework of international security cooperation and highlights the Moroccan security services’ efforts to track individuals wanted worldwide for transnational crimes.
