Government Council Meeting Scheduled for Next Thursday

The Government Council is set to convene next Thursday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch.

According to a statement from the government presidency, the meeting will begin with a presentation by the Minister of Health and Social Protection on the spread of measles (Bouhmaroun) and the governmental measures taken to contain it. This will be followed by a report from the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Water, and Forests on the status and progress of the 2024-2025 agricultural season.

Subsequently, the council will examine two draft decrees. The first concerns the standards and methods for defining close or distant protection perimeters around water collection facilities for public supply, as well as the infrastructures, works, and activities that may be prohibited or regulated in these areas.

The second draft decree deals with defining the conditions and procedures for establishing conservation and prohibition zones, along with the granting of permits and privileges within these areas.

Finally, the council’s session will conclude with a review of proposals for high-level appointments, in accordance with Article 92 of the Constitution.
