Police Officer Uses Firearm to Neutralize a Threat in Khénifra
In the early hours of Tuesday morning, a senior police inspector in the Khénifra region was forced to use his service weapon as a precautionary measure. To neutralize the danger posed by an intoxicated individual who threatened public safety, he fired two warning shots into the air.
The police had intervened to arrest the suspect, who was causing public disturbance. However, he violently resisted, throwing stones and wielding a blunt metal object, which resulted in damage to a police vehicle’s protective glass. In response to this escalating threat, the officer discharged his firearm to deter further aggression.
This necessary use of the service weapon successfully neutralized the threat, allowing the officers to arrest the suspect, who was still under the influence. He has been placed in custody under judicial supervision while authorities investigate the full details and circumstances of the case.
