Tanger: A Man Arrested for Fraud and Forgery
Police forces in Tangier arrested a 58-year-old man on the evening of Tuesday, February 4, on suspicion of involvement in a case of fraud, deception, and document forgery.
The investigation was launched following a complaint from a woman who claimed to have been scammed by the suspect. He allegedly promised to facilitate the issuance of a document required for a residence certificate application. The police’s inquiries led to his identification and arrest.
A search of his home uncovered 942 identification documents, eight passports in other people’s names, along with numerous photographs and copies of administrative documents.
The suspect has been placed in police custody under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office. The investigation continues to clarify all aspects of the case and uncover the true motives behind these criminal acts.
