Brazilian legend Marcelo, the 36-year-old left-back, has decided to retire from professional football. The five-time Champions League winner had been a free agent since terminating his contract with Fluminense last November due to tensions with his coach.

In an emotional video showcasing his journey and glory days with Real Madrid, Marcelo expressed his gratitude:
“My story with football ends here, but I still have a lot to give to this sport. Thank you all, I am forever grateful.”

During his legendary career with Los Blancos, Marcelo secured 5 Champions League titles, 6 La Liga trophies, 2 Copa del Rey titles, 4 Club World Cups, and 3 UEFA Super Cups. With the Brazilian national team, he also won the Confederations Cup and earned two Olympic medals, one silver and one bronze.
