Arrest of a Suspect for Vandalism and Threats in Rabat

The Rabat Security Police, in coordination with the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST), arrested a 23-year-old man this Monday, February 10. The suspect, who has a criminal record, is accused of drug use, causing material damage to private property, and making threats of committing a felony.

The police were alerted about an intoxicated individual causing disturbances and vandalizing several parked cars in the « Al Barid » district of Rabat. In response, police patrols were dispatched to apprehend the suspect.

Upon their intervention, the suspect resisted arrest, threatening officers with a bladed weapon and attempting to start a fire using a gas cylinder. These criminal acts were recorded and widely shared on social media.

Following thorough investigations, the suspect was taken into custody under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office to clarify all the circumstances surrounding the case and determine the full extent of the crimes committed.
