Casablanca Stock Exchange Opens on an Upward Trend

The Casablanca Stock Exchange started trading on Thursday with an upward trend, as its main index, MASI, rose by 0.52% to settle at 16,478.46 points.

The MASI.20 index, which tracks the performance of the 20 largest listed companies, gained 0.7%, reaching 1,332.89 points. Similarly, the MASI.ESG index, which measures companies with the best ESG ratings, advanced by 0.98% to 1,156.84 points.

Meanwhile, the MASI Mid and Small Cap index, reflecting the performance of small and mid-sized companies, edged up 0.17% to 1,730.34 points.

Top Performers and Decliners

The biggest gainers included:

  • Bank of Africa (+8.75% to MAD 208.8),
  • M2M Group (+8.45% to MAD 565),
  • Taqa Morocco (+3.27% to MAD 1,549),
  • Med Paper (+2.8% to MAD 23.13),
  • Eqdom (+2.67% to MAD 1,078).

On the other hand, the biggest losers were:

  • Stroc Industrie (-2.94% to MAD 42.32),
  • TotalEnergies Marketing Maroc (-1.95% to MAD 1,559),
  • Sanlam Maroc (-1.48% to MAD 2,000),
  • Mutandis (-1.48% to MAD 330.05),
  • CMGP Group (-1.46% to MAD 337).

Notably, the MASI index had closed Wednesday’s session with a 0.74% gain.
