On Thursday, the Spanish Civil Guard announced the seizure of more than two tons of hashish, thanks to precise intelligence provided by the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST). The operation took place on the northern coast of Tenerife, in the Canary Islands.
This joint operation was launched after the Spanish Civil Guard was alerted by the DGST about the possible arrival of a boat carrying a large quantity of drugs on Spanish shores.
According to a statement from the Civil Guard, the operation resulted in the seizure of 53 bundles of drugs, weighing a total of 2,075 kilograms, and the arrest of six individuals caught red-handed while unloading the cargo on the beach of Garachico.
Additionally, five mobile phones and various documents were confiscated.
The detainees are being prosecuted for crimes against public health and for belonging to a criminal organization.
