Spain’s Interior Minister: « Morocco Has Vast Experience in Hosting Major Events »

Marrakech – Spanish Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska stated on Tuesday in Marrakech that Morocco has extensive expertise in organizing major events.
Speaking to the press after his meeting with Moroccan Interior Minister Abdelouafi Laftit, on the sidelines of the 4th Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety, Grande-Marlaska expressed his gratitude to His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the Kingdom of Morocco for hosting the event.
In this context, the Spanish minister voiced confidence in the successful security management of the 2030 FIFA World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by Morocco, Spain, and Portugal, thanks to the proven experience of the three nations in organizing large-scale events.
Additionally, Grande-Marlaska emphasized the importance of tackling the challenge of road safety and ensuring safe mobility, advocating for urban planning that meets citizens’ needs.
He also highlighted the role of modern technologies in improving road safety, stressing that road accident victims should be a priority in public policies related to traffic safety.
Recalling that road safety is a commitment upheld by several international organizations, including the UN and WHO, the Spanish minister underlined the significance of education and awareness in reducing road accident fatalities.
The 4th Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety, organized under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI by the Ministry of Transport and Logistics in collaboration with the WHO, is being held under the theme “Commitment for Life”. The event brings together official delegations led by over 100 ministers responsible for transport, interior affairs, infrastructure, and health.
