Morocco’s Counterterrorism Strategy Proves Effective

American expert Ido Levy stated that the recent thwarting of a highly dangerous terrorist plot targeting Morocco once again confirms the effectiveness of the Kingdom’s “robust” counterterrorism strategy.

In a statement to the Maghreb Arab Press agency, the researcher at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy emphasized that “Morocco has once again demonstrated its ability to dismantle terrorist cells and foil their plans before they can be executed.”

He highlighted the significance of large-scale counterterrorism operations, such as the one conducted on Wednesday by Moroccan security forces against Daesh-linked plots. These efforts play a crucial role in weakening the terrorist group across Africa.

The American expert underscored the “critical” importance of cooperation to achieve “strategic gains” in the ongoing war against terrorist organizations on the continent.

He also discussed the strong counterterrorism cooperation between Rabat and Washington, describing Morocco as a “key partner” in the Global Coalition against Daesh.

Finally, he stressed the need for multilateral coordination to effectively address terrorist threats across Africa.
