“Citizen Budget”: A Tool for Transparency

The Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima region launched the “Citizen Budget” initiative this Friday, an instrument designed to simplify complex financial data, uphold the right to information, and encourage citizen participation in public affairs.

This initiative aligns with the Regional Council’s commitment to transparency, public management innovation, and citizen engagement, as part of the Open Government Partnership (OGP) program.

The “Citizen Budget” is designed as an accessible and interactive tool, using clear language, explanatory graphics, and real-life examples to illustrate how public funds are allocated. It highlights regional budget priorities and provides a detailed overview of projects funded by the Regional Council in key sectors such as infrastructure, environment, and local development.
