Seizure of 1852 Fireworks Units at Tanger Med

National police and customs officers at the Tanger Med port foiled an attempt to smuggle 1852 fireworks and firecrackers on Friday. A 42-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of transporting these hazardous materials, which pose a risk to people and property.

According to a security source, the suspect was apprehended upon arrival from a European port. A search of his utility vehicle led to the discovery of 36 boxes containing the illegal items.

The suspect is now under judicial investigation, supervised by the competent prosecutor’s office, to determine the circumstances of the case and uncover any potential links to criminal networks.
