First Successful Surgery for Tricuspid Valve Insufficiency in Rabat

A medical breakthrough was achieved today, Tuesday, by a specialized team of doctors and nurses at Moulay Youssef Hospital Center in Rabat, successfully performing the first-ever surgery to treat tricuspid valve insufficiency in the heart.
According to a statement from the Regional Directorate of Health and Social Protection of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region, received by Morocco 24, this complex surgical procedure, which lasted nearly five hours, was led by Professor Mohamed Aaroussi, head of the cardiac surgery department at Ibn Sina University Hospital in Rabat, in collaboration with a medical and nursing team from Moulay Youssef Hospital Center.
The operation was performed on a 63-year-old patient and required a high level of precision and concentration due to its complexity.
This medical achievement, the first of its kind in Morocco, marks a significant milestone in the field of cardiac and vascular surgery. Such procedures are usually carried out in specialized university hospital centers. The success of this operation highlights the high expertise of the Moroccan medical and nursing staff, demonstrating their ability to handle complex cases while adhering to the highest quality standards.
