Arrest of a Daesh-Affiliated Suspect in Oued Laou

The agents of the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST), in close coordination with the judicial police of the Tetouan security district, have arrested an individual affiliated with the terrorist organization Daesh during a high-level security operation in the Al-Ahmar district of Oued Laou.

According to local sources, the suspect, a man in his thirties, was deeply influenced by Daesh’s extremist ideology and had pledged allegiance to the so-called « emir » of the terrorist organization. Initial investigations suggest that he was engaged in promoting radical ideologies and attempting to recruit new followers.

The arrest was carried out in full compliance with legal procedures. During the raid, authorities found materials and tools that could be linked to terrorist activities, which will be examined as part of an ongoing investigation supervised by the relevant judicial authorities.

This operation is part of Morocco’s proactive security efforts to combat terrorism and extremism while preventing any threats to national stability. The suspect will be brought to justice once the investigation determines potential links to other terrorist networks.
