Weather Alert: Snow, Heavy Rain, and Strong Winds Expected in Morocco
The General Directorate of Meteorology has issued an orange alert, forecasting snowfall above 1800 meters, heavy thunderstorms (30-50 mm), and strong wind gusts (70-95 km/h) across several regions on Friday and Saturday.
Snowfall: Expected in the provinces of Ifrane, Boulemane, Azilal, Béni Mellal, Al Haouz, Chichaoua, Tinghir, Ouarzazate, Midelt, and Taroudant, from Friday at 11:00 AM to Saturday at 6:00 AM.
Heavy rain and thunderstorms: Rainfall between 30 and 50 mm will affect Safi, Essaouira, El Jadida, Sidi Bennour, Berrechid, Settat, Casablanca, Nouaceur, Agadir Ida-Outanane, and Taroudant, from Friday at 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM. These conditions will also impact Nador, Al Hoceima, Berkane, and Oujda from Friday at 6:00 PM to Saturday at 4:00 PM.
Strong winds and dust storms: Wind speeds ranging from 70 to 95 km/h will hit Figuig, Jerada, Errachidia, Ouarzazate, Zagora, Midelt, Boulemane, Guercif, and Tinghir, from Friday at 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
