Fouzi Lekjaa, president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, has announced the opening dates of the stadiums set to host matches for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, confirming that construction is progressing rapidly to ensure their readiness on schedule.

Speaking to the media, Lekjaa revealed that a meeting chaired by the Prime Minister, attended by representatives of all stakeholders involved in infrastructure development, reviewed the progress of the stadium renovations for this major continental event.

He added that all projects are proceeding according to the established timeline and that the stadiums will be ready to host AFCON matches in the early stages before being further upgraded for the 2030 FIFA World Cup.

Regarding preparations, Lekjaa highlighted that work is advancing smoothly in several major cities set to host games. The Mohammed V Complex in Casablanca is expected to be ready by the end of March 2025, followed by stadiums in Fez, Agadir, and Marrakech, along with the Prince Moulay Abdellah Complex.

By the end of August 2025, additional stadiums such as Moulay Hassan Stadium and Al Barid Stadium will also be fully equipped.

Lekjaa emphasized that all nine stadiums designated for AFCON 2025 will be ready seven months before the tournament kicks off, marking a significant step in Morocco’s preparations to host other global sporting events, particularly the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
