The administration of the local prison in Nador has denied the claims published by an online news platform, which alleged that a prison service vehicle was involved in a hit-and-run accident after striking a pedestrian.

In a clarification statement issued this Thursday, the administration explained that the incident actually involved a vehicle from the Zaïo prison, which was on an administrative mission to the local prison in Nador. The vehicle collided with a cyclist who had violated traffic laws.

The statement emphasized that the accident was documented in the presence of the relevant authorities and that the injured individual was transported to the hospital. The administration firmly refutes the claim that the driver of the service vehicle fled the scene.

Furthermore, the administration condemned the repeated publication of defamatory articles and false news by the mentioned website, accusing it of attempting to tarnish the institution’s reputation and exert pressure to withdraw a previously filed complaint.

Finally, the administration reaffirmed its legal right to take judicial action against the site and announced that it would refer the false allegations to the public prosecutor once again.
