
U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Friday evening the appointment of Duke Buchan III as Ambassador to Morocco, emphasizing that he « will play a key role at a time when we are strengthening peace, freedom, and prosperity for both our countries. »
In a post on his social network Truth Social, Donald Trump stated: « I am pleased to announce that Duke Buchan III will serve as the United States Ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco. »
He further highlighted that « Duke will play an important role as we reinforce peace, freedom, and prosperity for our nations. »
Duke Buchan III previously served as the U.S. Ambassador to Spain and Andorra from 2017 to 2021.
Born in North Carolina in 1963, he has had a distinguished career in finance and business. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and Spanish from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a master’s degree from Harvard Business School. He also studied at the University of Valencia and the University of Seville in Spain.
