The French Football Federation Supports Benatia’s Suspension

The French Football Federation confirmed yesterday, Thursday, its decision to uphold the three-month suspension imposed on Mehdi Benatia, former Moroccan international and current sporting director of Olympique Marseille, following his appeal against the decision made by the Disciplinary Committee.

This suspension stems from incidents that occurred during the Marseille vs Lille match in the Round of 16 of the French Cup, on January 14th. Benatia was sent off after a strong protest against the fourth official, due to the referee’s failure to award a penalty to his team.

Despite Benatia’s appeal, the relevant authorities have decided to uphold the punishment, meaning he will be unable to carry out his duties within the French club for the entire suspension period.
