Ancelotti satisfied after victory over Rayo Vallecano

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti expressed his satisfaction after his team’s 2-1 victory against Rayo Vallecano in LaLiga’s 27th round.

Speaking to the club’s official website, the Italian manager stated: « We feel really good because we achieved our goal, which was to get the three points. In the first half, we deserved to be leading 3-0, but we finished 2-1. In the second half, we had two chances, such as Mbappé’s pass or Vinicius’ opportunity to score the third goal. »

Ancelotti added: « At 2-1 in the 75th minute, we had to focus on defending well to avoid any problems. Our defense was strong, although I understand that the fans might not have enjoyed the ending as much. »

The Madrid coach also highlighted the challenges faced by big clubs: « We must consider that many teams playing in the Champions League struggled, such as Inter Milan against Monza, Liverpool against Southampton, and also Leverkusen and Bayern Munich. Preparing for these matches is tough, especially against a team like Rayo, which fights hard and plays with great intensity. »

Regarding injured players, Ancelotti reassured: « Modric is recovering well and finished the match in good condition. We also hope Rüdiger recovers from the flu, along with Courtois. »

With this victory, Real Madrid now has 57 points, remaining second in LaLiga, level with Barcelona but behind on goal difference.
