The Hamas movement, through its official spokesperson Hazem Qassem, has welcomed U.S. President Donald Trump’s reversal on his previous remarks calling for the displacement of Gaza residents.

In an official statement, Qassem urged Trump to “avoid aligning with the vision of the Israeli far-right,” emphasizing the importance of respecting Palestinian rights to their land.

During a meeting at the White House with Irish Prime Minister Michael Martin, Trump stated that “no one will be expelled from Gaza” and that “nobody wants to remove the Palestinians from there,” marking a clear shift from his earlier stance.

It is worth noting that Trump, who has renewed his close alliance with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu since the start of his new presidential term, had previously sparked controversy by suggesting a “temporary relocation” of Palestinians from Gaza following a ceasefire agreement.
