The port authorities of Algeciras announced this Thursday that passenger traffic between the Spanish port of Tarifa and Tangier is once again disrupted due to adverse weather conditions affecting the Strait of Gibraltar.

According to the source, all scheduled sailings from Tarifa have been canceled, except for the 8:00 PM departure, which remains subject to weather conditions.

Meanwhile, ferry services between Algeciras and Tangier Med are experiencing delays, though no cancellations have been reported so far, as confirmed by the port authorities of Algeciras.

The Spanish National Meteorological Agency has issued a yellow-level weather warning, in effect until 12:00 PM, for the Strait of Gibraltar and several areas in the province of Cádiz. Rainfall is expected to reach up to 40 liters per square meter in some regions.

Additionally, the coastline facing the strait is under weather surveillance due to rough seas, with southwesterly winds reaching speeds of 80 km/h and waves potentially rising up to four meters, according to the meteorological agency.
