Conviction for Blackmail and Defamation

A case that stirred public opinion resulted in the conviction of a Palestinian citizen by the Nador Court of First Instance. He was sentenced to two years in prison for blackmail, defamation, and illegal residence in Morocco.
According to well-informed sources, the convicted individual lured Moroccan women into fake relationships, later filming them in compromising situations and using the footage to blackmail and threaten them.
The national security services in Casablanca arrested him while he was attempting to leave the country, carrying a laptop that contained compromising videos, allegedly used in his extortion schemes.
Investigations revealed that he deceived his victims by pretending to want marriage, gaining their trust before secretly recording them. He was also involved in suspicious relationships with multiple women from Nador, Al Aroui, and Taourirt, suggesting a premeditated plan for exploitation.
This case has sparked widespread shock in society, reigniting the debate on strengthening penalties for online blackmail and increasing awareness of the growing dangers women face on social media.
