The Ministry of Energy Transition has announced that the current investment budget for renewable energy has reached 20 billion dirhams, adding that investments in electricity grids will be multiplied fivefold by 2030.

In a post on its official Facebook page, the ministry stated that « the Kingdom has recently launched six new green hydrogen projects worth 319 billion dirhams, including 130 billion dirhams allocated for the production of one million tons of ammonia. »

This announcement comes just days after Morocco selected five national and international investors to implement these projects in the southern regions, as part of its efforts to enhance renewable energy production.

Morocco continues to expand its investments in this sector to reduce its dependence on imports, as it currently provides only 4% of its energy needs amid global energy price fluctuations.
