Israeli Airstrikes on Gaza Kill Hundreds in One of the Deadliest Attacks

The Israeli army announced early Tuesday that it had carried out intense airstrikes in the Gaza Strip, resulting in the deaths of hundreds, including children. This marks one of the most violent attacks since the ceasefire agreement in January.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that « the strikes on Hamas in Gaza were launched after their refusal to release the hostages. »
Hamas, on the other hand, condemned the move, saying that « Netanyahu and his extremist government have decided to overturn the ceasefire agreement and are exposing the prisoners in Gaza to an uncertain fate. » The group has called for an urgent United Nations Security Council meeting.
