The Tetouan police, in coordination with the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST), carried out an operation on Thursday morning, seizing 94,728 psychotropic pills and three kilograms of cocaine, while arresting two brothers aged 29 and 41 suspected of being part of a criminal network involved in drug trafficking.

According to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), the operation took place in the rural area of « Al Qotout », within the Ounane commune near the city of Ouezzane. The search of a house used by the suspects led to the seizure of 94,728 hallucinogenic tablets of various types, three kilograms of cocaine, 14 kilograms of cannabis resin (chira), along with eight bladed weapons and cash in both local and European currencies, suspected to be proceeds from the illicit drug trade.

Authorities also confiscated three electronic scales, a tear gas spray, two walkie-talkies, six falsified license plates, and two vehicles believed to have been used in the commission of these crimes.

The suspects have been placed in police custody as part of an ongoing judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor, aiming to determine the full extent of this criminal network and identify other individuals involved.

This operation is part of the ongoing efforts by the DGSN and DGST to combat drug trafficking and the distribution of psychotropic substances.
