Lamine Yamal: « Barcelona is the Top Contender for the Champions League »

Barcelona’s rising star, Lamine Yamal, has asserted that his team is now the strongest favorite to win the UEFA Champions League this season, especially after Liverpool’s elimination by Paris Saint-Germain. He also emphasized that Barça is the team that causes the most trouble for their long-time rivals, Real Madrid.

In an interview with Marca, Yamal stated: « We are the favorites to win the Champions League. After the group stage, I saw Liverpool as the closest contender, but now that they’re out, we have the best chance. »

He added: « We fear no team. We have a strong mentality that helps us stay focused in every game during this crucial phase of the season. We are a different team from last season when we lost to PSG. »

On the possibility of facing Real Madrid in the upcoming rounds, Yamal commented: « Playing against Real Madrid is always exciting. We are the team that causes them the most problems, and the same goes for us. »

Barcelona has secured a place in the Champions League quarter-finals, where they will face Borussia Dortmund after eliminating Benfica in the previous round. The Catalan club is aiming to reclaim the European title, which they last won in the 2014-2015 season by defeating Juventus in the final.
