Over 20,000 Drug Pills Seized in Marrakech

Judicial police officers in Marrakech, acting on precise intelligence from the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), arrested a 35-year-old man with a criminal record on Friday for his suspected involvement in drug possession and trafficking.
The suspect was apprehended while driving a freight transport truck in coordination with the Royal Gendarmerie in the Tamesloht area, on the outskirts of Marrakech. The search led to the seizure of 14,185 ecstasy pills.
A subsequent search at the suspect’s residence in Marrakech uncovered an additional 6,000 psychotropic pills, bringing the total seizure to 20,185 pills.
The suspect is now under judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office to determine the full circumstances of the case and identify potential connections to other criminal activities.
