Wildfires in North Carolina: Over 800 Hectares Burned

Wildfires in North Carolina (southeastern USA) have devastated over 800 hectares, according to authorities.
At least two fires were reported on Sunday in Polk County, western North Carolina. On Saturday evening, the state’s public safety department ordered the evacuation of certain areas.
In a social media post, authorities urged residents to leave immediately, warning of reduced visibility and road closures.
Meanwhile, in neighboring South Carolina, Governor Henry McMaster declared a state of emergency to combat wildfires spreading in Pickens County.
