As part of ongoing vigilance and monitoring efforts to ensure public health and safeguard citizens’ purchasing power, regional joint committees have intensified market surveillance and control mechanisms. They are firmly addressing speculation, price manipulation, and other illegal practices that harm consumer rights.

According to a statement from the Ministry of the Interior, these committees conducted 4,988 field interventions between March 2 and 26, leading to the closure of 531 illegal production, storage, and wholesale and retail sales establishments.

During these operations, 239,402 kg of non-compliant products were seized, 65% of which were expired or unfit for consumption. Additionally, legal and judicial proceedings have been initiated against 327 violators.

Authorities confirm that these inspections will continue regularly, with enhanced coordination and surveillance measures to ensure compliance with pricing, competition, and consumer protection laws.
