Tanger Med: Over 11,000 Fireworks Seized, Franco-Moroccan Man Arrested

Security and customs officers at the Tanger Med Port successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle 11,165 fireworks and explosive devices on the evening of Wednesday, April 23. A 31-year-old French citizen of Moroccan origin was arrested in connection with the case.

The suspect was apprehended upon arrival from a European port. A thorough search of the utility vehicle he was using led to the discovery of the hazardous and flammable cargo.

He has been placed under judicial custody as part of an investigation led by the competent public prosecutor, aiming to uncover the full details of the case and any potential links to an organized smuggling network.
