The Casablanca Police Department has categorically denied the claims circulating with a video showing four individuals in a public street, which wrongly alleged they stole students’ mobile phones.
The individuals voluntarily approached police authorities in the Bernoussi district, clarifying they are friends merely joking with each other at the time the video was filmed.
One of them has filed an official complaint against the video recorder for defamation and spreading false information, and an investigation is ongoing under the public prosecutor’s supervision.
Casablanca police continue to investigate those responsible for spreading false news that undermines public safety.
